Horse Riding Philippines is an online resource for Filipinos with passion for horses and horse riding. This is about the love for horses, horsemanship, and the equestrian sport in the Philippines as we experience it. This blog came to birth as our daughter "Yana" dreams of a life with horses. And we share the tips, suggestions, expert advise, and how to's of enjoying this sports as we find them along the way.
Yana usually bathes the horse she mounted for each riding lesson. Not because she's required to, but because she really loves to. Last Saturday, other than bathing the horse, she was taught how to care for saddle and bridle. How to clean, disassemble and assemble it back again. Sponge is used to apply saddle soap. Saddle conditioner is applied after cleaning. Stirrup leathers must be removed from the saddle before cleaning and reattached before safekeeping. It is important to care for your saddle or tack. Good tack is expensive and can last many years if well taken cared of. Clean, Condition, Place, and Repair are the four words to remember in taking care of horse tack. A neglected and unchecked tack can be dangerous both for the rider and the horse.
Yana made some friends while at El Kabayo last November 2012 when she joined the 4th Annual Horsefest. So it's really not surprising for her to want to join this upcoming Camp Palomino Summer Horse Camp 2013. It will surely be a lot of fun for her. Something new to do this summer break.

Yana continues with her horse riding lessons on weekends. This time Yana tries riding Malic, one of the recently acquired horses of MEC (Marikina Equestrian Center). Yana always enjoy doing canter. And with the summer school break just a couple of weeks away, she's excited and looking forward to spending more time at the stables and riding the horses.
